A/R: One dead following robbery attack on two revenue shops

A gang of armed robbers has attacked two privately owned revenue collection shops at Ahenema Kokoben in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
A 49-year-old security guard was killed in the process.
Kwame Asamoah, a staff of OGIDIBROWN ENTERPRISE, one of the shops attacked, said: “I received a distress call this dawn [and] when I came I saw our security guard lying motionless in a pool of blood.
“I think he was stabbed by the robbers,” he said.
He added that the robbers “made away with close to GH¢90,000”.
Another merchant shop, used as a revenue collection point for the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) was also robbed.
An amount of GH¢8,000 was also stolen from that shop.
The Trede Police Command has begun investigations into the matter.
