[Video]: Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu returns to parliament, refuses to assume usual seat

The immediate past majority leader and MP for the Suame constituency, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, returned to parliament yesterday [Feb. 22], a day after his resignation as the leader of government business in the house. He refused to assume his usual majority leader’s seat.

Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu tendered his resignation as the majority leader of parliament at a crunch meeting convened by President Akufo-Addo at the seat of government, Jubilee House, on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

Meanwhile, many leading majority MPs have expressed surprise at the turn of events. The majority MPs had earlier served notice that they would not countenance any attempts from external powers to remove Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.

Currently, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu serves as the chair of the Bawumia 2024 manifesto committee.
