Some Upper West Regional Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have threatened to boycott the visit by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The executives are accusing the Regional Minister Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih of sidelining them in the organization of the President’s visit.
The executives accused him of rather using past officials of the NPP in the Region to plan for the visit.
President Akufo-Addo is scheduled to visit the region from Sunday, August 21 to Tuesday, August 23.
“The minister has refused to involve the party in the planning and organization of the event. He has decided to engage some other people including former Executives,” the Regional Secretary, Dr. Dauda Tanko Daniel, said.
But the Regional Minister has expressed shock at the accusation against him.
“I was surprised to hear from a group of NPP regional executive where they indicated that I have decided to run a one man show. That is strange. I have consistently updated the regional chairman regional secretary about the plan,” he told TV3.
