Tackle premix fuel issues – MP tells gov’t

Member of Parliament to Dadekotopon, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah has attributed the shortage of premix fuel in Ghana to the Landing Beach Committees in fishing communities.

She said her constituents, who are mostly fisher folks, have been complaining that they do not know those who constitutes the committee to enable them fall on for help when they need premix.

Madam Odoley Sowah said these in an interview with 3FM’s Sunrise on Thursday while commenting on the shortage which has hit the country recently.

“There is a lot to be said about premix fuel. That is what they use to go fishing so the government should provide them with it”, she said.

She explained that “my people say they don’t know the members of the landing beach committee so when the premix comes, they don’t know where to get them and who to get them from”.

She added “if the fishermen come to tell me they don’t know who sells them, they should be made to know the members of the landing beach committee”.

“There should be a solution to the premix issue, otherwise we will import more fish”.
