Zimbabwe have sacked their head coach Zdravko Logarusic less than a month to their meeting with Ghana in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) would like to inform the football fraternity and the nation at large that it has amicably parted ways with senior men’s team coach Zdravko Logarusic. The decision was arrived at upon consideration by the full Executive Committee of all the various relevant circumstances pertaining to the coach’s contract,” ZIFA announced Sunday.

“The entire technical team has also been disbanded.

“The appointment of the interim technical team shall be announced in due course as the Executive Committee has already set in motion the process.”

The former Kotoko and Ashgold coach despite guiding the Warriors to next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon has been sacked because recent results have been poor with Zimbabwe sitting bottom of Group G after two matches in the World Cup qualifiers.

Logarusic, appointed in January last year, was in charge of 14 games in which Zimbabwe won one, lost eight times and drew five.

His replacement would be announced soon as Zimbabwe hope to frustrate Ghana early next month when the two countries meet in a double-header.
