Ghana defender Baba Rahman is a doubt for this month’s 2022 World Cup play-off against Nigeria.

The Chelsea left-back who is on loan at English Championship club Reading could miss the crucial tie because of injury.

The Black Stars regular has not been in action since February 19 when he suffered a thigh injury in Reading’s 3-2 victory against Preston North End.

The 27-year-old has since missed the club’s last three league games and is expected to be out again this weekend against Nottingham Forest.

Black Stars coach Otto Addo is said to be monitoring Baba’s situation as he prepares to name his squad for the games.

Baba has made 24 appearances for Reading this campaign and has provided one assist.

He has 41 caps for the Black Stars since making his debut on September 10, 2014.

The former Asante Kotoko player was a member of the Black Stars squad that performed poorly at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
