Akyem Kotoku Royals Public Relations Officer, Okatakyie Afrifa, has dismissed all thoughts of playing fixed games to close out this season after getting relegated from the Ghana Premier League.

The debutants were confirmed relegated following their 2-0 defeat to Great Olympics over the weekend which means they are unable to survive even if they win the rest of their matches.

With four games remaining in the season, most of their fixtures appear to be crucial as the have relegation-threatened Karela United and Tamale City to face as well as Asante Kotoko who are aiming to finish well by the end of the season.

However, Afrifa is confident his team would play their hearts out in the remaining games.

“Against league leaders Aduana Stars, we played our hearts out…and everybody saw how Kotoku Royals played, and being a professional club like Kotoku Royals, we don’t tolerate any fixed matches.

“We are going all out, play our hearts out as far as the rest of the matches are concerned,” he told Citi FM

Kotoku Royals will host Asante Kotoko in their next fixture at Dawu Park on Sunday.
