The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Mr. Kurt Okraku has asked Ghanaians to be patient with the body amidst fierce calls for the dismissal of Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevac.
Some Ghanaians have mounted pressure on GFA calling for the head of the coach following the abysmal performance of the Black Stars in the ongoing 2020 African Cup of Nations.
The team failed to win any game at the group stage leading to its early exit from the tournament in Garuda, Cameroon.
Ghanaians took to social media and the traditional media to make their demands.
However, the President of the GFA speaking on the matter for the first time on TV3’s New Day programme called for cool heads to prevail.
He insisted that, the GFA has what it takes to take right decisions for Ghanaians.
This he said, will only be taken after the Executive Committee members meet and also engage it’s key stakeholders.
We just arrived this dawn. We haven’t met as an EXCO and also haven’t met with our key stakeholders.”
“So it is important we have cool heads, engage and take the right decisions for Ghana football and we have the men to take those decisions.”
Meanwhile, he also said he doesn’t regret the sacking of the former coach of the team, C.K. Akornnor.
The Ministry of Sports have subsequently summoned the GFA to a meeting on tomorrow, Friday, January 21, 2021.
