Ghana coach Ibrahim Tanko has expressed confidence in his players ahead of their crucial encounter against Guinea in their final group match against Guinea in the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

After losing 5-1 to Morocco on Tuesday, the Black Meteors have to win against Guinea to proceed to the semifinals of the competition as they aim to even go further to make the top three and qualify for the Olympic Games.

Guinea, however, will yearn for a draw to make it to the next round as they lead Ghana in goal differences.

Tanko, on the other hand, has shown satisfaction with his players’ commitment ahead of the fixture stating that they have shown the zeal to go all out and beat their West African counterparts to secure qualification.

The former Black Stars assistant coach also hinted at possible changes to the initial lineup that lost to Morocco.

“We are well psyched mentally and physically to win the game. We had a good training session yesterday and the boys showed me in training that they are ready for a win,” Tanko said in the pre-match press conference.

“We have watched and studied the Guinean team and we have different players that can make up the best starting 11 for the match. We will do some changes and we hope these changes will help achieve our aims.”

“We have no injury so far. We’ve had two days of rest and we made good use of it. I am sure everyone will be ready for the game,” he added.
