Two Karela United fans have been arrested over their alleged involvement in the assault on Medeama players on Sunday.

The suspects David Yankey nicknamed Akpale, 32, and Jonathan Essien, 33, were arrested on Sunday night by the Tarkwa police.

Police are hunting five other suspects, according to Ghanasoccernet.com.

The unfortunate incident happened after the MTN FA Cup clash between Karela United and Medeama at the Crosby Awuah Memorial (CAM) Park in Aiyinase.

Medeama midfielder Eric Kwakwa was pictured bloodied, while the club’s bus windows got damaged by the hooligans.

The Ghana Football Association has reacted by banning Karela from using the CAM Park indefinitely.

Karela United, in an official statement, say they will cooperate with authorities in finding all responsible for the actions.

Medeama won 3-1 to seal progression to the round of 16.
