Ghana star Thomas Partey has been named as the Arsenal Player of the Month for the very first time since joining the club in 2020 from Atletico Madrid.

Partey has picked up February award, as announced by the club on Tuesday. He finished with 49 per cent of the vote, narrowly edging out Martin Odegaard, with Bukayo Saka in third.

The midfielder was in outstanding form throughout February, as Arsenal won all three of their Premier League matches.

Partey started the month with a typically combative performance in midfield as Arsenal won 1-0 at Wolves, and helped shore things up as we were reduced to 10 men with 20 minutes remaining.

He then was impressive in the victory against Brentford, dominating the middle of the park as Arsenal claimed another hard-fought three points.

The 28-year-old helped the Gunners round off the month in style with an energetic, driving display in midfield as Arsenal came from a goal down to beat Wolves late on at Emirates Stadium.

Partey being in great form is good news for Ghana ahead of the 2022 World Cup play-off against Nigeria. He is expected to captain the team in the absence of skipper Andre Ayew who is suspended.
