Cameroonian legend Samuel Eto’o has revealed that three-time African best Abedi Pele is his favourite Ghanaian player.

Eto’o, a three-time Champions League winner, described Pele as “one of the best ever.”

The current Cameroon Football Federation president appeared as a special guest on TV3’s Warm Up Plus show on Saturday morning. The former Barcelona and Inter Milan star discussed a variety of topics, including the World Cup in 2022.

The Qatar Legacy Ambassador, 41, is in Ghana for a two-day visit as part of the build-up to World Cup.

In the interview, Eto’o said that Ghana has the same chance of winning the World Cup as any other African team, and he expressed delight at Gyan’s desire to return to the Black Stars.

Eto’o picked his former teammate Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo when asked to choose between the two football players who have dominated the game for more than 10 years.

“Messi is better, sorry to Ronaldo,” Eto’o said.

Eto’o has earned many accolades in the past including multiple African Football of the Year awards and two Champions League trophies.

The 41-year-old is a four-time African Player of the Year, two-time AFCON top goalscorer, two-time UEFA Champions League winner and a Pichichi trophy winner.
