Former Hearts of Oak gaffer Samuel Boadu has dismissed the statement made by Kumasi Cornerstone FC on Twitter, claiming that he has agreed to coach the Division Two club.

The tweet, posted on Monday, welcomed Boadu as a “stop-gap coach” and expressed confidence in his experience and tactical excellence to positively impact the team.

The club’s announcement had also mentioned that the agreement was of a temporary nature, allowing Boadu to leave if a better opportunity arises.

However, Boadu has contradicted this announcement, stating that he has not signed any contract with Cornerstone FC and has not engaged in discussions with anyone from the team. Boadu expressed surprise at the club’s statement and urged people to verify the information with anyone associated with Cornerstone FC.

Boadu said to Kessben FM, “I haven’t signed for Cornerstone and I haven’t even held conversations with anyone in the team. I haven’t even made up my mind on joining them. How can I live in Accra and manage in Kumasi?

“I’m even surprised seeing this because I haven’t held talks with the club. There’s no truth in this, you can verify from anyone at the club.”

Boadu’s coaching career has been notable, having achieved considerable success during his time at Hearts of Oak, winning the Premier League title, the MTN FA Cup twice, the President Cup, and the Ghana Super Cup. However, his tenure with Hearts of Oak came to an end in September 2022 and has since been focused on Black Satellites.
