SAFA have finally confirmed the Bafana Bafana coach at a press conference held at their headquarters on Wednesday.
Hugo Broos will take over the reins and replace Molefi Ntseki, who was sacked more than a month ago but could still play a role within the national team structures.
Benni McCarthy was the leading candidate, but after SAFA, according to Siya sources, fell short on his personal demands and available budget, the ex-striker pulled out of the race, leaving Broos as the last man standing.
The NEC has given Broos a 5-year-contract and the coach will hit the ground running with the focus on the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.
