Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has urged Ghanaians to troop into the Baba Yara Stadium in their numbers to cheer the Black Stars to victory against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Black Stars will be honouring their first game after bowing out of the 2022 World Cup in the early stage having lost to Uruguay in their third group game.

In a clash that will be new manager Chris Hughton’s first game, Ghana will lock horns with the Palancas Negras on Thursday, March 23 at the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium before playing the second leg in Angola on Monday.

Partey who joined his teammates in camp on Tuesday has assured Ghanaians of victory and is therefore entreating them to attend the game massively.

“Hello Kumasi fans and Ghanaians, this is Thomas Partey. Meet us at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, 23rd of March for our game against Angola. I can’t wait to be there. Come and support the Black Stars to victory,” the 29-year-old said.

Ghana have four points as well as Angola and while the latter aims to return to the continental championship to be staged in Ivory Coast, Ghana are hopeful of qualifying and eventually ending their 41-year trophy drought.

Both teams have four points in Group E after playing against Madagascar and Central African Republic.
