Nyantakyi heads Caf’s ad hoc committee to revise statutes

Kwesi Nyantakyi has been GFA President since 2005[/caption] Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has been appointed as the Chairman of the Committee for Revision of Statutes, one of the two ad hoc committees approved at the Caf Executive Meeting in Manama, Bahrain. The Meeting saw the election of Ghanaian Nyantakyi as the First Vice President of the continent’s governing body for football. At the Meeting, the President of the Confederation of African Football (Caf), Ahmad Ahmad, proposed the establishment of two ad hoc committees, composed mainly of presidents of member associations. One is to take charge of Revision of Statutes and the other is for Compensation. Among members of Kwesi Nyantakyi’s committee, the former, are the presidents of the Gambia, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Botswana, Central African Republic, Seychelles and Egypt football associations. A FIFA Consultant on Governance will be one of the resource persons. “A seminar will be organized for the presidents of the members associations to present to them the work of the Committee for the Revision of Statutes for their input before the finalization of the draft to be submitted to the Executive Committee and the General Assembly,” Caf announced on Monday, May 8.
