The 21-year old joined Southampton from Real Valladolid in the Spanish La Liga last summer but had to wait for a while before making his debut.
Talking to the club after his debut appearance for the Saints, Salisu described the night at Mollineaux as perfect and will be looking forward making more appearances.
“It was a perfect night, I am really happy to be back with the team, the team really did well, we worked hard and I am very happy,” the center back told the club’s media. “I’m looking forward to playing more matches and give my best to the team.
Mohammed Salisu brought stability into the Southampton defence and helped them keep their first cleansheet in 5 games which he said was very vital for the team.
“I am very excited for the cleansheet, is very important.
“I feel very happy, it was a great feeling, it’s been frustrating but now I’m back and happy,” he added.
Southampton after the 2-0 win over Wolves have been drawn against AFC Bournemouth in the forth round of the English FA Cup.
