Mohammed Kudus has emerged as a prime target for Brighton, with the Premier League club reportedly considering a move for the Ajax star.

The 22-year-old, who joined the Dutch side in 2020, is expected to leave this summer after turning down a one-year contract extension offered by Ajax in April.

The likes of Manchester United, Newcastle, and Chelsea had previously shown interest in the attacking midfielder who wanted to leave Ajax last summer. He absented himself from training in an attempt to force a transfer to Everton.

However, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Brighton now has a strong interest in the Ghanaian player. Kudus has been identified as a top target by Brighton for this summer’s transfer window. Romano also mentioned that Chelsea has not engaged in concrete discussions with the player.

In their pursuit to fill the void left by Alexis Mac Allister’s departure to Liverpool, Brighton views Kudus as a potential valuable addition to manager Roberto De Zerbi’s squad.

Kudus operates in a similar advanced role to Mac Allister and could help compensate for the impending loss of Moises Caicedo as well.
