Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has said he is completely focused on winning against Ethiopia and South Africa.

Black Stars will regroup next month to conclude the second round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers with games against Ethiopia and South Africa respectively.

Rajevac’s side will face Ethiopia in Bahir Dar before hosting South Africa in their final game. Both games are expected to be played in early November.

Ghana cannot afford to drop points in any of the games as they are a point behind South Africa in the race to finish top of Group G, with the winner progressing to the final qualifying round.

Black Stars revived their hopes of making it to Qatar this month when they beat Zimbabwe twice in the space of three days.

Speaking to the Ghana Football Association media team on Monday, Rajevac said: “Now our complete focus is on our next two matches which is very important and as I say, every next match is the most important one.”

“These two victories will mean nothing if we don’t deliver good performance and results in the next match,” the coach said in the interview with the media team of GFA.

“Our focus is completely on those matches and it is going to be a short time in camp but we will prepare well and we are in the process of preparing the camp and we have the support from everyone around and we hope everything goes well and achieve our target which is winning the next two matches and qualify for the final round.”

Many have predicted Black Stars and Bafana Bafana to win their respective penultimate games to set up a thrilling finale in Ghana.

South Africa coach Hugo Broos after his side’s double victory over Ethiopia promised Ghana “a fight to the death”.

And Rajevac has responded.

“This is normal because everybody wants to win so statements are statements and pitch is a pitch.

“We feel the same motivation and I think we are even hungrier for success so we have strong faith in our capabilities and in our unity and know what is at stake so we will do anything in our power to win these matches and go to the next stage.”

Rajevac guided Ghana to the World Cup in 2010 during his first spell.
