PSG star forward Kylian Mbappe has vehemently denied the recent rumours linking him with a move to Real Madrid this summer.

Taking to Twitter, the 24-year-old dismissed the speculation as “lies” and reiterated his commitment to PSG for the upcoming season.

“Lies… At the same time, the bigger the lie, the more they believe,” Mbappe wrote on his official Twitter account. “I have already said that next season I will continue at PSG, where I am very happy.”

Mbappe, who joined PSG permanently in 2018 after a successful loan spell from Monaco, recently extended his contract with the Parisian club until 2025. This decision came amidst intense speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid during the 2021-22 season.

Earlier on Tuesday, French publication Le Parisien claimed that Mbappe had expressed his desire to join Real Madrid this summer following the departure of his compatriot Karim Benzema. The 35-year-old forward bid farewell to Real Madrid and made a transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad last week.

As one of the key figures for both PSG and the French national team, Mbappe played a pivotal role in securing France’s victory in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Since his arrival at PSG, he has clinched six French championships, including one with Monaco in 2017.

Mbappe has etched his name in the history books at PSG by becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer. With an impressive tally of 212 goals in 260 appearances, he surpassed the record previously held by Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani, who now plays for Valencia.
