PSG have announced the appointment of Luis Enrique as their new manager.

The confirmation came shortly after the club revealed the departure of Christophe Galtier, who had been in charge for just one year.

The 52-year-old former Barcelona manager takes over the reins at PSG after a stint as the manager of the Spanish national team.

He left his role following Spain’s exit from the 2022 World Cup at the last-16 stage, where they suffered a penalty shootout defeat to Morocco. During his tenure, Enrique guided Spain to the semi-finals of Euro 2020.

Having signed a contract until 2025, Enrique brings a wealth of coaching experience to PSG. He previously managed clubs such as Roma, Celta, and Barcelona. At Barcelona, he enjoyed a successful spell, winning a total of nine major trophies in just three years, including the prestigious Champions League title in 2015.

PSG have had three managers in the last five years.

The club won a record 11th Ligue 1 title last season but crashed out of the Champions League in the last 16 after defeat to Bayern Munich.
