Leicester City have apologised to Chelsea after a video emerged of Daniel Amartey throwing the London club’s pennant on the floor during Saturday’s FA Cup victory celebrations.

Chelsea have accepted the apology but Amartey have been spoken to about the incident.

Leicester won the FA Cup for the first time as Youri Tielemans’ stunning long-range goal earned the Foxes victory over Chelsea at Wembley.

The players lifted the trophy and then returned to the dressing room to continue the party.

With some squad members streaming on Instagram Live, the celebrations were available for all fans to see.

Amartey took this opportunity to jump in front of one camera, pick up the Chelsea pennant exchanged by the captains pre-kick off, and hurl it over his shoulder.

It landed on the floor.

The video ‘angered’ Chelsea fans. According to reports, the Black Stars defender was racially abused on social media.

Leicester face Chelsea again on Tuesday in a crunch Premier League clash. The fixture could seriously impact Champions League prospect for both clubs. As things stand, Leicester sit 3rd on 66 points while Chelsea are 4th on 65.
