Legon Cities coach Maxwell Konadu has encouraged fans to remain optimistic about surviving by the end of the season despite the team’s recent poor run of results.

The Royals failed once more in their quest to leave the relegation zone as they suffered a 3-2 defeat to Bibiani Gold Stars at Duns Park in a pulsating encounter on Monday in the Ghana Premier League.

The result means Legon Cities will remain in the relegation zone until the league resumes after the Easter festivities.

Maxwell Konadu who was impressed with the team’s performance during their defeat is however confident they will survive.

“We will [escape relegation]. Mark it on the wall. We will escape relegation.

“Proud of the performance of my boys today. They did well. This game was keenly contested. We gave our all but wasn’t enough sadly. We will keep fighting to escape relegation,” he said.

Legon Cities still have a lifeline in other competitions as they get ready to take on Dreams FC in the FA Cup quarterfinals.

With three points less than 15th placed Great Olympics, their survival battle will continue when they host Kotoku Royals after the break on April 14.
