Mohammed Kudus made his first appearance as a West Ham player against Luton Town in the Premier League on Friday night.

The 23-year-old who joined the Hammers last weekend was named on the bench by David Moyes but eventually got a nod in the dying embers of the game as West Ham edged the promoted side at Kenilworth Road.

The London side clinched a 2-1 victory in their fourth Premier League clash thanks to goals from Jared Bowen and Kurt Zouma who propelled the club to their third consecutive win.

Bowen met Paqueta’s cross in the box and nodded home from close range to inspire his team into the lead in the 37th minute.

After being denied a goal by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), the Hammers came through with their second goal as Zouma connected diligently from a corner kick with five minutes to end the game.

Mads Juel Andersen found a consolation for the home side in stoppage time to maintain a decent scoreline as West Ham climbed to the top of the table with 10 points having played a match more.

Before the consolation was the introduction of Ghana star Mohammed Kudus who had longed to be in action for his new team after departing Ajax on a remarkable note.

The 23-year-old replaced Lucas Paqueta in injury time to have a feel of English football at least before the team returns from the international break to lock horns with champions Manchester City at the London Stadium.
