Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in next season’s CAF Champions League after winning the Normalisation Committee’s Special Competition. Kotoko beat Karela United 4-1 on penalties at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to win the maiden competition. The competition was put together by the Committee, which is overseeing the administration of football in the country, to determine which club represents Ghana in the CAF Champions League. It was made up of erstwhile Ghana Premier League sides, drawn into Group A and Group B. While the Porcupine Warriors ended runners-up in Group A, Karela United also finished second to Hearts of Oak in Group B. But Kotoko beat Hearts on penalties to make it to the final. Karela United also beat AshantiGold SC 1-0 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium to make it to the final. With the win on Sunday, Kotoko will return to the CAF Champions League after playing in the CAF Confederation Cup last season. Source: 3news.com|Ghana]]>
