Asante Kotoko boosted their hopes of a top-four finish with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Accra Lions on Saturday evening.

After drawing their previous home game against Karela United, a result that effectively ended their hopes of defending the Ghana Premier League title, Kotoko responded well by defeating Lions on their home turf. They currently sit in fourth position with one game remaining.

The decisive goal arrived in the 21st minute courtesy of Solomon Safo-Taylor, with the Porcupine Warriors holding on for their 13th win of the season.

Earlier in the day, Dreams FC all but secured their safety with a triumph against Great Olympics in Dawu. The intense contest between two teams fighting to avoid relegation delivered second-half drama, with Dreams emerging victorious with a 2-1 scoreline.

This win propelled Dreams into sixth place, a comfortable six points ahead of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Great Olympics find themselves in real danger of being relegated, sitting just one point above the last team in the relegation spot, having played a game more.

King Faisal managed a 3-1 victory over Legon Cities at home, but it may not be enough to save them from relegation. They require significant assistance from other teams in order to remain in the league during the final weekend of the season.

Currently second from bottom and three points adrift of safety, King Faisal only have one game remaining.
