Asante Kotoko are out of the MTN FA Cup at the round of 64 stage following a 1-0 defeat against King Faisal in the Kumasi derby.

Baba Yahaya’s first-half goal was enough to secure King Faisal another memorable victory over their city rivals on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

It is the second time that King Faisal have beaten Kotoko this season, following the shock 3-2 win in the top-of-the-table Ghana Premier League clash early this month to end The Porcupine Warriors’ unbeaten run.

With their exit, Kotoko have to focus on the league as it represents their only hope of winning a trophy this season.

Hearts of Lions and Karela United progressed at the expense of WAFA and Medeama respectively.
