Former Chief Drummer of the Black Stars Joseph Langabel has opened up on the reason for his separation from the senior men’s national soccer team.

According to him, reports that he was pimping for some of the Black Star players and was engaged in illegal drugs are false.

He said he was forced out due to jealousy of some persons in Ghana football, including the current President Kurt Okraku, whom he said accused him of travelling with drugs on trips.

“In the 13 years of Kwasi Nyantakyi’s administration, did you see anybody arresting Langabel at the Airport?” he asked host Romeo Oduro in an interview on Romeo TV.

He said jealousy set in because those persons thought the former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwasi Nyantakyi, was giving him all the support.

He dared anybody to come out if they heard a player come out to say he was pimping girls for them.

“That’s the reason why I say if you are jealous, you will quench. These people don’t understand the reason why I am using these terms that ‘if you jealous, you go quench’.

“Observers are worried, believers shall enjoy because if you are jealous of somebody and the people  who are not jealous of the person, they will laugh at you. At long last they will go and sit somewhere with that same person you are talking with and enjoy. You will be there abandoned.”

He expressed optimism that one day another administration will come and need his services for the Black Stars.

He described the Nyantakyi administration as the best ever in the history of Ghana football.

For him, no administration can surpass the achievements of Mr Nyantakyi, who resigned in 2018 after a scandal unearthed by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas brought that tenure to an end.
