Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has expressed dissatisfaction with his team’s defence despite earning a hard-fought win in an exciting clash against West Ham on Saturday at Selhurst Park.

The Black Stars player leveled promptly after the visitors took an early lead on the ninth minute mark, providing his club a solid basis from which they played an amazing first half that finally resulted to a 4-3 victory.

Palace seized the lead thanks to Wilfried Zaha’s strike, and Schlupp extended the lead by capitalizing on a costly error. Despite West Ham scoring twice more, Palace held on to win with a spot kick from Ebere Eze in the second half.

Ayew hailed his teammates but expressed disappointment in the number of goals his side allowed.

“I’m pleased with the goal and the four goals, but not so pleased with the ones we conceded,” He told BBC Sport.

“Overall it was a good day. We are happy, have three points, and now we need to keep on pushing to win more games.”

He added that the team is still committed to improving the attack under manager Roy Hodgson,

“We enjoy playing together [as teammates]. We want to score goals, get assists and be decisive – that is important and something we are trying to do more. Sometimes it works and sometimes not, but that is something we are trying to improve.
