Jordan Ayew rescued a 2-2 draw for Crystal Palace against Southampton with his first Premier League goal in 43 games.

The Ghanaian forward’s last goal for Palace came in a 4-1 win against Leeds in November 2020, and it was a sweet feeling when he slotted home from a tight angle in the 65th minute with Palace trailing.

Ivorian Wilfried Zaha fired Palace ahead inside three minutes, but two quickfire goals from Southampton saw them ahead at half-time before Ayew’s goal ensured a share of spoils.

Ayew was substituted 10 minutes after scoring but his compatriot Mohammed Salisu finished the game for Southampton.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey Schlupp was unused by Palace manager Patrick Vieira.

It is a deserved goal for Jordan who has worked really hard this season. Over the weekend, he was in inspired form and assisted a goal as Palace impressively beat Everton 3-1.

Jordan in 16 league games has been involved in three goals.
