Black Stars duo Jordan Ayew and Richard Ofori joined their teammates in time to participate in their first training session in Kumasi on Tuesday ahead of their upcoming match against Central African Republic (CAR).

The team after arriving in Kumasi held their first training session at the Baba Yara Stadium with 24 players (excluding Joseph Paintsil) present.

The team held an initial session on Monday in Accra with just about 12 players available as reported earlier by 3Sports but most of the players joined later as they departed the capital to Kumasi.

Paintsil is the only unfit player who is believed to be in Accra as his teammates continue training in Kumasi for the crunch game.

However, media personnel and fans were denied entry to the Baba Yara Stadium because the session was meant to be held behind closed doors.

The team are expected to hold another session which is anticipated to be opened to the media as the crucial match in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier approaches.

For Ghana to book a place in the tournament which will be hosted by their neighbours Ivory Coast next year, they would have to either win or draw while CAR need to win at all costs to qualify.

The game kicks off on Thursday at the Baba Yara Stadium at 16:00GMT
