The WBO featherweight world title fight between Isaac Dogboe and Robeisy Ramirez Carrazana is set for April 1st, 2023 in the United States, the Ghanaian boxer confirmed on Wednesday.

A deal was reached for Dogboe to face two-time Olympic gold medalist Robeisy Ramirez in a WBO-sanctioned featherweight bout within the next three months.

“We are looking at 1st April. A tough opponent and a great fighter. At this level, no one is a pushover. Is a battle between kings,” Dogboe said.

The exact stakes for their finalised showdown in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has not been determined yet.

The agreement was reached just days after Ghana’s Dogboe (24-2, 15KOs) was directed to negotiate a WBC title eliminator with the Philippines’ Mark Magsayo (24-1, 16KOs). The WBC’s effort was admirable, but the fight was always a non-starter.

Isaac Dogboe will be vying for his second divisional championship.

Isaac Dogboe and his team must also decide whether to pursue a fight with Phillipino Featherweight Jessel Mark Magsayo in a WBC eliminator.
