Ghanaian boxer Isaac Dogboe has strongly denied claims that his height poses a disadvantage to his boxing career.
Dogboe has faced three significant defeats in the past five years, resulting in the loss of his WBO Junior Lightweight title.
The 28-year-old experienced consecutive losses to Emanuel Navarrete before suffering another defeat at the hands of Robeisy Ramirez, who currently holds the WBO Featherweight title in March.
Both Navarrete and Ramirez have comparatively greater height and reach in the ring, with Navarrete standing at 1.7 meters and Ramirez at 1.65 meters, while Dogboe measures 1.57 meters.
“If size mattered then I don’t think I will be in the sports. I don’t think I would have become a champion. I don’t think Tyson would become a champion either,” Dogboe said at a press conference on Thursday.

“This is how God made me and I used it to my own advantage and is been successful. God has been great and I am grateful for how I am.”
Despite the setbacks, Dogboe remains optimistic about his future in the sport and aims to reclaim a world championship title in the coming years. He is determined to make a strong comeback and prove his abilities inside the ring.
