West Ham midfielder Mohammed Kudus revealed that he purchased a house for his mother when he signed his first professional contract.
The Ghana international considers moving his mother to a comfortable place as one of his biggest achievements.
Kudus, who started his career at Right to Dream Academy, secured his first professional contract at the age of 18, leading to a move to Danish club Nordsjaelland.
“Moving her out of Nima, getting her her own house. I think that’s one of the biggest achievements that she’s proud of. The first thing I did when I moved to Denmark was to give my mum a house so that she can be comfortable,” Kudus shared with West Ham TV.
“I believe that’s the basic need in living; to wake up with no monthly rent [on your mind] and stuff. So that’s the big thing I was able to do for her.”
Kudus impressed during his time at Nordsjaelland, earning a €9 million move to Dutch giants Ajax, where he continued to shine. His consistent and impressive performances led to West Ham signing him for over 40 million euros in August.
In his debut season in the Premier League, Kudus has been successful, becoming West Ham’s second-top scorer with nine goals and contributing one assist.
