Ghana secured qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the Baba Yara Stadium as they beat the Central African Republic (CAR) 2-1 on Thursday.

The visitors began strongly with a series of attacks which paid off in the 25th minute with a goal from Louis Mafouta to silence the home fans.

However, Ghana swiftly got back into the game as Mohammed Kudus restored parity with a brilliant free-kick on the 43rd-minute mark.

Hughton’s substitutions paid off in the second half as Antoine Semenyo and Ernest Nuamah climbed from the bench to combine for the winning goal in the 88th minute.
