Hearts of Oak will play Guinean side CI Kamsar in the preliminary round of the 2021/22 CAF Champions League season.

This was revealed on Friday in Cairo where the draw was conducted.

The winner will face Moroccan heavyweights Wydad Athletic Club in the first round.

The Guineans will host the first leg of the tie on 10-12 September 2021 in Conakry before the second leg in Accra on 17-19 September.

Hearts of Oak who clinched the domestic double are making a return to the continental stage after a six-year absence.

They last played in the Confederation Cup in 2015, but this time it is the Champions League – a competition they haven’t featured in since 2006 when they scored no goal in the group stage.

Hearts are the only Ghanaian club to have won all three African club trophies – Champions League, Confederation Cup and the CAF Super Cup.
