Board Members of Hearts of Oak have hit back at critics, stating that they are undeterred by negative comments from supporters.

In a press conference held on Monday, board members Dr Nyaho-Nyaho Tamakloe, Alhaji Brimah Akanbi, and Vincent Sowah Odotei addressed various issues, including former coach Martin Koopman’s claims that some board members interfered with player selection.

Dr Tamakloe refuted these allegations, emphasising that Koopman had full responsibility over player selection and utilised 28 players during his tenure, excluding two injured players.

“Koopman was solely in charge of player selection in the team. He was given full responsibility,” he said.

“We want to put on record that by the time we played our seventh league match, Koopman had used 28 players except two who were on the injury list.”

The trio, who are instrumental in the day-to-day operations of the club, acknowledged that the team’s current performance is below par, with the Phobians sitting ninth in the Ghana Premier League and suffering an early exit from the MTN FA Cup.

Nevertheless, they remain committed to achieving their objectives and will not let negative comments hinder their progress.

The press conference precedes their highly anticipated match against Kotoko on Sunday, where they hope to turn their fortunes around and get their campaign back on track.
