Congolese striker Kashala Ramos Wanet scored a decisive goal for Hearts of Oak to shoot them back into winning ways after a disappointing start to the season.

The Phobians secured a vital win over Nsoatreman in their first home game at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon, ending their poor Ghana Premier League run which stretched from the latter stages of the previous season.

New signing Kashala Ramos finally showcased his prowess as he got the only goal as early as the fourth minute proving his effectiveness as shown as he netted several goals during pre-season.

Hearts of Oak gained another advantage after Philip Ofori was sent off 30 minutes after the goal.

Martin Koopman’s men created more chances in the second half but failed to increase the tally as they held on to a 1-0 victory bouncing back from their defeat against Real Tamale United on the opening day ending their woeful record against coach Maxwell Konadu.

In other matches, Aduana Stars and Nations FC bounced back from defeats as they both secured their 2-0 wins, the first of the season against Medeama SC and FC Samartex.

Karela United thumped Berekum Chelsea 3-1 at home while Bechem United got their first win under coach Bismark Kobi Mensah as they beat Dreams FC.

Meanwhile, despite a promising display against Kotoko in their opening game, Heart of Lions were unable to score as they played to a goalless draw with Great Olympics.
