Great Olympics are demanding the return of midfielder Gladson Awako to the club over Hearts of Oak’s failure to honour their part of the transfer agreement.

Olympics and Hearts reached an agreement for the transfer of Awako in August this year.

He signed a two-year deal after the Phobians agreed to pay a reported 100,000 Ghana cedis transfer fee.

Awako’s contract with Olympics was due to expire in late October. But Hearts needed him for their CAF Champions League campaign, so accepted to pay a transfer fee instead of signing him for free.

However, Hearts communicated their desire to pay the said amount in two instalments which Great Olympics agreed.

Hearts paid 50,000 Ghana cedis in September and agreed to pay the rest before October 2 deadline.

“We had an agreement with Hearts of Oak and they wanted to pay 50 per cent, the first instalment was paid on the 13th September,” Great Olympics CEO Oluboi Commodore said on Happy FM.

“The second instalment was to be paid on October 2. In the agreement, it was said if they fail to pay the money the agreement is nullified or terminated which was signed by Vincent Sowah Odotei.”

“He is currently an Olympics player and must return to us now. Any amount paid is not refundable,” he added.

While Olympics and Hearts are at loggerheads, Awako hasn’t been training with Hearts. Hearts said the player’s absence is due to ‘personal difficulties.’

Awako scored seven goals and contributed six assists for Great Olympics last season.
