Eight games, thirty goals! Ghana Premier League week seven delivered! WAFA and Medeama SC were the talk of the town after a nine-goal thriller. Daniel Lomotey, the Man of the Match, is the first person to score a hat-trick this season. He didn’t just score three goals but four! The first half of the game saw the Academy boys lead by four goals. However, the Yellow and Mauve attempted a comeback but that did not suffice. Abass Mohammed scored from the spot, Rashid Nortey scored a brace and Justice Blay struck a long ball into the net but it was a little too late. WAFA won 5-4. After a series of bad results, Inter Allies recorded their second win of the season against Eleven Wonders. Alex Asso scored the only goal of the game. Berekum Chelsea fell once again but this time to AshGold. Although the Biribies took the lead just eight minutes into the game, Appiah McCarthy and Hans Kwofie completed the comeback for the Miners. Liberty Professionals won by a lone goal against 10-man Legon Cities. The result means the Royals are the only side yet to win a game this season. Karela United also maintained their impressive form and beat Elmina Sharks 3-1. Of course, Diwiasie Taylor was on the scoresheet. Accra Great Olympics were not their usual smiling self after this week’s set of games. They lost by 2-1 to Aduana Stars. After this week’s games, Bechem United and Karela are joint top on the log with 14 points and WAFA follow with 13 points. Dreams FC, King Faisal and Legon Cities are the bottom three.
