The Minister of Youth and Sports has handed a three-bedroom house to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to serve as a permanent residence for any Black Stars coach. The house, located at Airport Residential Area in Accra, the country’s capital city, will therefore serve as residence for current coach James Kwesi Appiah, who is said to have been impressed with the apartment. The move comes in the wake of huge expenses on accommodation for the national team’s coach with some, especially the expatriates, living in relatively expensive hotels. The last expatriate to handle the Stars, Avram Grant, for instance, is said to have lived at the erstwhile Alisa Hotel any time he was in Ghana. An estimated GH¢864,000 was spent on that. At a short ceremony, Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah handed the keys of the three-bedroom house to Coach Appiah. Among officials present were Kweku Ayiah, who repped the GFA, and Saka Acquaye, a Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority. https://twitter.com/ghanafaofficial/status/968514991128276993 By Emmanuel Kwame Amoh|3news.com|Ghana ]]>
