Gladson Awako isn’t included in Hearts of Oak squad for this season’s Ghana Premier League.

The midfielder is the notable absentee from the squad as the Phobians aim to defend the title.

Awako joined Hearts of Oak in August from Great Olympics, amid much fanfare, but it hasn’t been smooth.

Awako hasn’t reported to training since early September, with people close to him claiming he wants to quit.

The 26-man squad also doesn’t include Enock Asubonteng, Seidu Suraj and Nurudeen Abdul Aziz and Abdul Umar Manaf.

But newly-signed defensive midfielder Ushau Abu and other new acquisitions namely Benjamin Yorke, Yaw Amankwah Baafi, Isaac Agyenim Boateng, Salim Adams were included.

Hearts will start their title defence on Sunday in a local derby against Legon Cities.
