Ghanaian youngster Mawuli Mensah joins Real Betis

Spanish La Liga club Real Betis Balompie have completed the signing of 19-year-old Ghanaian talent Mawuli Mensah.

The versatile midfielder has inked a three-year contract with the club, making the move from Antequera CF during the summer transfer window.

Mensah’s impressive performances and pivotal role in Antequera CF’s promotion to the First RFEF league caught the attention of Real Betis’ manager, Manuel Pelligrini, leading to his acquisition.

In an official statement on their website, Real Betis confirmed the transfer and expressed their excitement over the young footballer’s arrival. The midfielder is now linked to the Club de las Trece Barras until 2026.

Mensah, born on November 15, 2003, in Accra, Ghana, expressed his delight at joining Real Betis and conveyed his ambition to make a significant impact in the upcoming season. He shared his dream of eventually progressing to the first team.

“I’m very happy for this opportunity. My dream is to go up to the first team,” Mensah said.

While Mensah is set to train with the youth setup initially, Real Betis has plans to gradually integrate him into the first team, giving him the chance to showcase his talent and potential in the top flight of Spanish football.

Mensah is a product of Shooting Stars in Accra.
