Ghana U-23 depart for Japan and South Korea friendlies

Ghana U-23 team, Black Meteors left Accra on Tuesday evening for their international friendly games in Japan and South Korea.

The team will play four matches, two each with the Olympic teams of the Asian countries.

They will first play Japan on June 4 and 8 in Tokyo before travelling to face South Korea on June 12 and 15.

Coach Samuel Kwesi Fabin’s side have been training at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram for the past two weeks for the games.

Ghana failed to qualify for this year’s Olympic Games but the team will use the test matches to prepare for the next African Games scheduled for Accra in 2023.

Japan and South Korea will use the games to test their readiness for the Olympic Games football competition.
