The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has unblocked award-winning sports journalist Saddick Adams on social media, after initially blocking him ahead of a planned demonstration.

In a message directed at Adams, GFA General Secretary Harrison Addo acknowledged the mistake and extended an apology, assuring him of further communication.

Adams had called out the GFA for blocking him on social media, expressing his disappointment with the organisation’s actions.

However, the GFA has since reversed their decision and unblocked Adams, recognising their error and taking steps to rectify the situation.

The planned demonstration, scheduled for February 14, 2024, is a response to the Black Stars’ disappointing performance at the AFCON 2023 tournament.

Adams has been vocal about his dissatisfaction with the team’s performance and the GFA’s handling of the situation.

During a meeting with the media in Kumasi, GFA President Kurt Okraku addressed several issues, including owning up to responsibility for the team’s disappointing performance.

“Our hope, our dream was to bring the cup back home. It didn’t work out and we can’t be disappointed enough,” Okraku said.

Despite the setback, Okraku remains optimistic about the future of Ghanaian football.

He stated that the GFA has been reflecting on their work as a team and have made several far-reaching decisions to improve the sport in the country.

“Management and technical decisions have seen us reflect on our work as a team. To reflect on what policies to help bring back the love and glory for the country,” Okraku explained.

Adams insists on proceeding with the demonstration despite assurances given at the press conference.

The demonstration is intended to express dissatisfaction with the GFA’s handling of the Black Stars’ performance and to call for improvements in the sport.
