President of New Edubiase Football Club, Abdul Salam Yakubu walked out of the Great Hall at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) during the speech of Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okaraku at the GFA 29th Ordinary Congress.
The veteran football administrator’s action was in protest to certain words which he deemed inappropriate from the president of the GFA Kurt Okraku.
During his speech, the GFA boss, stated some achievements of his administration in his first term while highlighting other packages and promises to be implemented to help develop Ghana Football.
However, Abdul Salam Yakubu claimed a chunk of the speech was mere political talks and had nothing tangible to do with Congress.

He emphasised that Okarku launched indirect personal attacks during his speech which is not proper as far as Congress is concerned.
“This is not Congress. You should have told me you came to do politics. I have things to do but I sacrificed them and paid for a flight only to be insulted over here,” he said.
“There are certain things that shouldn’t be said at Congress. I am very experienced in the game and I know what I’m saying. This is not how to hold a Congress. If you are a leader, you are supposed to be spoken for and not the other way around. Since he started the speech he’s been throwing jabs throughout than focusing on the main issues.
“So for what reason should I be there? Only those who have nothing to do will waste time there,” he said while walking out from the event.

Meanwhile, Kurt Okraku will be seeking another term to lead the association as his first term comes to an end in October.
