The Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku, has commissioned the borehole facility at the Dr Papa Kwasi Nduom stadium in Elmina.
This water supply enhancement will benefit the stadium, which serves as the home venue for Elmina Sharks in the Division One League and Sea Lions in the Women’s Division One League. Additionally, the stadium is used as a game centre for the Regional Juvenile Leagues organized by the Central Regional Football Association.
Accompanied by Robert Duncan, Chairman of the Central Regional Football Association, and Samuel Aboabire, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association, President Okraku oversaw the commissioning of the borehole project. This initiative is part of the GFA Executive Council’s efforts to enhance domestic competitions across the football ecosystem in Ghana.

The Dr Papa Kwasi Nduom stadium is the second project commissioned in the Central Region under President Okraku’s leadership. The Assasan Park in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District’s first project was inaugurated on Saturday, June 11, 2023.
Funding for the borehole project and other similar initiatives comes from the proceeds of FIFA Forward 1.0, a program aimed at developing football infrastructure and promoting the sport worldwide.
