Ahead of their Europa League encounter with Bayer Leverkusen tonight, West Ham United manager David Moyes has lauded the importance of Mohammed Kudus to his side.
Kudus moved from Ajax to join the East London club this season and has been the toast of Hammers fans across the country.
After what felt like a rough start to life in London, Kudus has scored 13 goals and topped it with four assists to help his team stay within the top 10 in the Premier League.
His goal against Freiburg in the previous Europa League fixture inspired his team to reach the quarter-final.
That goal won him the goal of the month at the club last month.
“Mohammed Kudus is just not important to us for this tie but he has been important for us all season,” Moyes told the media in a press conference ahead of his side’s Europa League quarter-final first leg in Germany.
“He will be important for us going forward in the future as well. He is a young boy who has just come into the Premier League and has settled in incredibly well.” He added.
Kudus’ importance for the Hammers cannot be understated. He has become a key figure in that West Ham attack licking us with Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio.
“We are really enjoying the way he is playing for West Ham, I think he has a lot of development to come in the future and he is settling in. nicely here,” Moyes said
Moyes and his West Ham charges will be counting on Kudus on Thursday night for more of the same when they play Xabi Alonso’s high-flying Bayer Leverkusen.
