Harry Kane says Bayern Munich showed the best version of themselves when they edged Arsenal 1-0 in their crucial UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.

Following a 2-2 draw at the Arsenal Stadium in the first leg, Bayern had one job in mind. Grabbing a victory at home to book a place in the next round, and so did they.

Speaking in a post-match interview about Bayern’s resilience and character against Arsenal on the day, Kane lauded his team’s performance, believing they showed their best selves to sail through to the semi-final.

“Obviously really delighted you know, tough game over the two legs. Arsenal have been a really good side and made it difficult for us in moments but we really showed the true Bayern Munich especially in the second half we took the game to them and had the better of the chances over the 90 minutes we took one and from there, it’s just about defending as a team”, he said.

Bayern Munich will face Real Madrid in the semi-final while PSG take on Borussia Dortmund for a place in the final.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have had their struggles domestically this season, yet should they edge Real Madrid in that difficult task, the narrative could turn into something positive as they aim to clinch a major silverware ate the end of this campaign.
