Ghana coach Otto Addo has expressed satisfaction with the inclusion of young players in the squad for this month’s friendlies, noting their positive impact on the team’s preparation for the future.

According to Addo, the young players have exhibited a commendable attitude in training, which bodes well for the team’s long-term prospects.

Addo, who is back for a second stint as coach, decided to call up promising talents such as Forson Amankwah, Ibrahim Osman, and Francis Abu for the matches against Nigeria and Uganda.

Osman and Amankwah had the opportunity to showcase their abilities in the recent 2-1 loss against Nigeria, while Abu could potentially make his debut in the upcoming match against Uganda on Tuesday.

Speaking ahead of the game, Addo expressed his satisfaction with the contribution of the young players, stating, “I think we made a good choice in bringing them into the camp. We are already preparing for the future and this is really, really good to see that the young guys coming up are knocking on the door to enter the national team.”

He emphasised the competitive atmosphere created by the inclusion of young talents, highlighting the need for established players to remain vigilant.

“The players who have been there for a longer time have to be aware because the young guys are hungry, they are good, they are developing and like I said this is what will make us all better,” Addo added.

Addo and his team are determined to secure a victory against Uganda to end their winless streak, which stretches back to November 2023. The match is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm local time, with hopes high for a positive result.
